Résumé: Online discussions became increasingly widespread with the Web 2.0: no matter the distance, whether you know the person or not, you can discuss and exchange ideas with people all over the world through forums, blogs, and newsgroups. The news websites have extensively used forums in order to encourage the reader being a real participant in the information media. This paper aims at automatically extracting the celebrities from such discussions. We propose certain meta-criteria and we provide an evaluation on a dataset of 35,175 posts written by 14,443 users. The results show that one of the proposed meta-criteria succeeds in extracting celebrities and allows for further improvements.

Résumé: The expansion of web user roles is, nowadays, a fact due to the ability of users to interact, discuss, exchange ideas and opinions, form social networks with each other through the web. The interaction level among users leads to the appearance of several social roles which can be characterized as positions, behaviors, or virtual identities. These roles may be developed in social networks, and they keep changing and evolving over time. In this article, a survey of the state-of-the-art approaches is presented regarding the identification of roles within the context of a social network. It is shown that social roles exist as a function of each other; they appear and evolve through user interaction. Different approaches are analyzed and additional characteristics that should be taken into account during the roles analysis are discussed.

Résumé: Web2.0 has resulted in an increasing popularity of personalized recommender systems, especially in the context of social networking applications. Although there exist design approaches available for such systems, most of them make very explicit assumptions on the application domain as well as on the availability and data types to be used as input. In this position paper, we discuss the requirements and challenges of Forum Recommender Systems. Such systems aim at generating automatically posting recommendations for the different user profiles that deal with a forum. Despite the fact that these systems share characteristics with other social media, they have hardly been explored due to the particularities they present in terms of structure, context and user differences. Here, we discuss the particularities of Forum Recommender Systems and we propose a framework that enables the gathering of profile data and the generation of posting recommendations. The proposed framework can also be adjusted to other social networks.

Résumé: Le développement du Web 2.0 a donné lieu à la production d'une grande quantité de discussions en ligne. La fouille et l'extraction de données de qualité de ces discussions en ligne sont importantes dans de nombreux domaines (industrie, marketing) et particulièrement pour toutes les applications de commerce électronique. Les discussions de ce type contiennent des opinions et des croyances de personnes et cela explique l'intérêt de développer des outils d'analyse efficaces pour ces discussions. L'objectif de cette thèse est de définir un modèle qui représente les discussions en ligne et facilite leur analyse. Nous proposons un modèle basé sur des graphes. Les sommets du graphe représentent les objets de type message. Chaque objet de type message contient des informations comme son contenu, son auteur, l'orientation de l'opinion qui y été exprimée et la date où il a été posté. Les liens parmi les objets message montrent une relation de type "répondre à". En d'autres termes, ils montrent quels objets répondent à quoi, conséquence directe de la structure de la discussion en ligne. Avec ce nouveau modèle, nous proposons un certain nombre de mesures qui guident la fouille au sein de la discussion et permettent d'extraire des informations pertinentes. Il existe des mesures centrées sur l'analyse de l'opinion qui traitent de l'évolution de l'opinion au sein de la discussion. Nous définissons également des mesures centrées sur le temps, qui exploitent la dimension temporelle du modèle, alors que les mesures centrées sur le sujet peuvent être utilisées pour mesurer la présence de sujets dans une discussion. La présence de l'utilisateur dans des discussions en ligne peut être exploitée soit par les techniques des réseaux sociaux, soit à travers notre nouveau modèle qui inclut la connaissance des auteurs de chaque objet message. De plus, une liste de messages clés est recommandée à l'utilisateur pour permettre une participation plus efficace au sein de la discussion.
