Discovery Science 2012

The Fifteenth International Conference on Discovery Science (DS 2012) is held Lyon, France. The conference is held during 29 to 31 October, 2012. The conference location is the Université Lumière Lyon 2, 14-16 quai Claude Bernard in the Berges du Rhône -a historic site located in the centre of Lyon on the left bank of the Rhône-.

DS 2012 will be co-located with the Twenty-third International Conference on Algorithmic Learning Theory (ALT 12). The two conferences will be held in parallel, and will share their invited talks:

Keynote speaker ALT+DS: Luc De Raedt, Department of Computer Science, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium.
Keynote speaker DS: Toon Calders, Faculty of Math and Computer Science, Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands.
Keynote speaker ALT: Shai Shalev-Shwartz, School of Computer Science and Engineering, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel
Tutorial DS: Gilbert Ritschard, Institute for Demographic and Life Course Studies, IDEMO, Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, University of Geneva.
Tutorial ALT: Pascal Massart, Département de Mathématiques, Université de Paris-Sud, France.

DS 2012 provides an open forum for intensive discussions and exchange of new ideas among researchers working in the area of Discovery Science. The scope of the conference includes the development and analysis of methods for automatic scientific knowledge discovery, machine learning, intelligent data analysis, theory of learning, as well as their application to knowledge discovery. Very welcome are papers that focus on dynamic and evolving data, models and structures.

The joint event of ALT 2012 and DS 2012 is supported by the Université Lumière Lyon 2, France.
